Manual under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000

This manual is published by JAKKALS VIBES (PTY) LTD ("the Company") in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000) (PAIA). It explains what records the Company holds and how to request access to them. It also covers requests under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information Officer
The Information Officer of the Company is The Director, JAKKALS VIBES (PTY) LTD. The Information Officer deals with requests under PAIA and POPIA and can be reached at info@jakkalsvibes.co.za. Registration of the Information Officer with the Information Regulator is in progress.
3. Guide by the Information Regulator

4. Records held by the Company
The Company holds records in the following categories. Not all records are automatically available; access is granted in line with PAIA.
- Company records: registration documents, statutory records, tax records, and financial records.
- Personnel and contractor records: agreements with band members, crew, songwriters, producers and service providers.
- Music and rights records: release metadata, songwriting and production credits, and rights registrations with SAMRO and CAPASSO.
- Booking records: booking enquiries and event agreements handled with our booking partner, Vocal Events.
- Website and marketing records: newsletter sign-ups, correspondence, server logs, and analytics data as set out in our Privacy Policy.
5. Records available in terms of other legislation
Certain records are kept and made available under other laws, including the Companies Act, 2008, the Income Tax Act, 1962, the Value-Added Tax Act, 1991, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997, and POPIA. Access under those laws follows their own procedures.
6. How to request access to a record
- Complete the prescribed PAIA request form (Form 2) and email it to info@jakkalsvibes.co.za.
- Provide enough detail to identify the record, the form of access required, and your contact details. If you request the record on behalf of another person, state your capacity and provide proof of it.
- Where the request is for personal information, we may ask for reasonable proof of identity before we act on it.
- The Company will respond within 30 days, unless the period is lawfully extended, and will inform you of any prescribed fees.
The prescribed request form and fee schedule are published by the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
7. Fees
PAIA provides for a request fee and an access fee, calculated in line with the PAIA regulations. We will tell you the applicable fees before processing the request. Requests for your own personal information are not subject to a request fee.
8. Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of PAIA, including the mandatory protection of the privacy of a third party, commercial information of a third party, confidential information, and records privileged from production in legal proceedings. Where access is refused, we will give reasons.
9. Remedies
If you are not satisfied with a decision, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator, or apply to a court, as provided for in PAIA. Contact the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
